Can you believe this little sweetie has been with us a whole year? It just seems like yesterday we were going to the vet to be interviewed! We were so nervous! We saw that sweet face and knew that he just needed some love and patience. And we were overjoyed when the vet picked us to be his new family out of all the other people who wanted him.
He has learned a lot this year... and, if we are honest, he has taught us a lot, too. Here are a few highlights from Newby's first year!
He has learned how to chew a bone.
He got a girlfriend.
He found out how great warm towels can be.
He went on several trips to Lowes, Sonic, Home Depot, PetSmart, etc.
He got a full name!
He learned how to distract momma and steal people food.
He became brave and went out on the porch all by himself.
He goes off leash a little bit now and then.
He has learned how to assert himself during bone chewing time.
Actually he has learned how to assert himself at any time!
He has partied like a rock star (or a really great British Spy).
He found his artistic side.
In other words, he has had a fantastic year... and we are blessed to have him be our little guy!
Thank you for being the best blogville family ever... You make all of us, including Newby, very happy!
Happy First Gotcha Day, Newby!!!!

This Day, Last Year, Was Sadder
At this time of day last year we were not the happy little family we are today. We were happy, but just not as happy as we could have been. You see we were without Newby, so we couldn't have been as happy as we could be.
Newby's official gotcha day is tomorrow, June 6th, but we've been celebrating every day this week. How could we not? Newby deserves some extra celebration.
Here are a few pictures from the last year... we are glad he is here to stay!!

Early Morning Walkies
Ok, 8:30 isn't exactly early, but it is for me. I'm not a fan of getting up. But I am a fan of how pretty my little farm looks in the morning light.

"How does your garden grow?"
Pretty well, in spite of being neglected of late. Newby thinks it's from the aeration by dachshund paws. Milo thinks his "watering" provides all the essential nutrition needed by growing plants. Dixie doesn't care, but thinks of the sunning her belly is involved then she is pro-gardening. Snakes? Oh, they don't care at all.
