I Might Have Ugly Cried...
One of my former co-workers sent me this from Etsy. My heart went straight to overflowing. And then immediately to that blubbering cry when you make no sense but try to call and talk to people anyway.
Dachshunds were part of the reason I changed jobs. Being at home, when Newby and Dixie are in their twilight years means more time with them not just providing care but hopefully providing daily assurance that they are the best part of my life.
We Were Going Stir Crazy
So we went on a ride. There was no one on the highway. It was a little surreal. But because we were all alone on these back country roads we could go as slowly as we wanted and fall fast asleep.
Working From the Floor
He isn't very happy with it, but he did get closer to my desk today for the start of the work week.
Btw that blanket came with Newby from his original owners...matches nothing in our house, but his mom bought it so we gotta keep it!!
Working from Home...
I'm only staying home for a bit waiting on roadside and auditing the audit if the invoices (there is another audit after mine too -the biggest eye roll ever for a horrible accounting system-).
But Newby thinks if I am home I should be showing him love with treats and belly rubs.... and until I do, I am getting the stink eye.
Dixie in her Doggy Spanx
Not the most flattering picture of Dixie in her purple thundershirt (doggy spanx). But a girl does what she needs to do during a time of crisis (rain shower).
Newby, Bathroom Lifeguard
There is never any personal space with Newby as a recent houseguest found out. "Bathroom doors should be left open so I can snoopervise your shower", per Newby.
He will drag rugs, towels, beds, etc over if your shower or bath takes longer than he wishes to lie on the tile. And if you are really long he will move the shower curtain and stare until you finish.
We're lucky to have a dachshund lifeguard in the house!!
Friday is the Best Day
Newby and Dixie love the weekends. I try to do all of my running during the week so I can slow down and enjoy some quiet time with them. Right now it's sunny, windy, and warm before a weather front comes in and created a sloppy wet mess around our little house. Good luck getting anyone outside to potty then. Good news Amazon just hit me with our subscription for potty pads.
So until the rain falls, we'll enjoy all the sun rays we can get.
Crazy Dachshund Lady
One of the best things about being the person owned by a dachshund is your friends have an easy way out when purchasing gifts for holidays and birthdays. Here are a few from December.

Hello from the Other Side
Hello, it's me....I was wondering if after all these years you'd like to meet...to go over everything... They say that time's supposed to heal ya but I ain't don't much healing....
Well that being said, I am not a complete basketcase. I am actually pretty stable in life. Yup there are ups and downs, but all in all I am happy. I have a great job working with great people I like, two incredible dachshunds, an awesome son (who has coupled with an awesome girlfriend), nice little house...like I said, all in all I'm a happy girl.
It's just this time of year... It's gray outside, it's dark when you leave for work and dark when you head home, it's cold constantly...It's just gray and dark.
Lucky for me Newby and Dixie are great snugglers. Even when the bed sheets are on the wash, they are hardcore snuggling. Newby is a little codependent on Dixie. He is a bit moor cautious in his old age. His ears and eyes are not like his ears seven years ago. He likes to be carried to wherever he needs to go. And he prefers to have company with him all day and all night. So my weekends are filled with books and belly rubs to give Dixie a break from her babysitting duties during the work week.
Dixie has aged but just in her hair color...she is full on loud, barky, snoopy, and opinionated chiweenie. And that nosey most gets a lot of boops.
So what has changed? Why am I blogging? Honestly it's two part. 1) I don't see a lot of my other friends blogging anymore and I miss reading about their pets and their lives. 2) I know our dogs have a finite amount of time to be with us, and I don't want to forget the love and peace these little furry beasties bring me.
So if only for me and the future when I am without my beloveds, I am blogging. But if someone else reads, enjoys their faces, well that is just a cherry on top.
