Yeah, it's been that kinda week folks. Power outages, temperatures over 104F, cable (ie internet) outages, drooping plants, drooping spirits... and, as you know, living in the pseudo-country, that my cellphone doesn't always see eye to eye with the towers so posting, let alone commenting, doesn't happen easily. So I sat back, watched whatever I could watch on TV (cause apparently the cable part works but not the phone and internet when we have problems....) and read A. LOT. of books. :)
But then, finally, we had rain. Which then set off another round of power and cable outages. But once the cows across the street started helping, then everything began working properly.
Whodathunk, eh?
So right now I'm scratching off every instance of beef 'it's whats for dinner' off my menu and substituting chicken. Cause I'm figuring out that the Chik-fil-a advertising isn't just for marketing their wonderful chicken sandwiches, but cows are brilliant and gifted electricians.

We have been reading about the heatwaves and man, do I sympathise. the first two summers after I arrived 'Down Under' from cold Ireland, the temperatures were regularly over 104F and we went 5 months without rain in 2009 and it was HORRIBLE. But, on the plus side, reading is about the best thing to do ever and those cows look like they know their business. I always knew cows were a lot smarter than two legged ones give them credit for!!!
I hope life gets back to normal very soon!!
