Since I have so many fine felines as friends I was SOOOoooo pleased to find this little helper so I can learn what they are saying without words. (Although I've very happy to have your words in comments below.... hey Kittehs, if there are any wrong, will you warn me. I mean, I'd hate to get it wrong!!)

PS Mom didn't post what she did yesterday to be braggy... She didn't know what to post so she was truly grasping at straws. So please don't think she was being 'that way' she just didn't know what to post... writer's block? Uncreative? Meh, who knows.. :)

What Mom Does When She Isn't Blogging...
(Ok, I have no new cute pictures and I'm scraping the bottom of the 'topics' barrel today... so if you'd like to come back tomorrow, I completely understand...)
Mom owns a commercial cleaning company. Her company cleans for some local medical providers (how is that for being ambiguous?) She really enjoys it as she doesn't have to deal with people. Her employees are great except for the family members who work for her that she cannot seem to get rid of. And it really takes no time to do the work it would be better if she had a magic wand and could bibbidy bobidy boo it done, but meh.
When she isn't working she is in charge of belly rubbings, ear and butt scratchings and treats. She should have business cards made up for that, not her other business.
When she isn't taking care of us which she should be doing all the time because we are more important than anything else in the world she is homeschooling our human puppy brother, Reed. By homeschooling we mean she is slaving putting her VISA card into the appropriate spot and ordering the curriculum online then sitting back and letting them take care of Reed's education and worrying about his grades. He is doing better homeschooling than he ever did when he was getting up and going to a real school (no lie... seriously, you'd think he was just like our mom in that he is antisocial.. oh, wait, he is...) Last year he had 2 B's and the rest A's carrying a heavy load of school work (Geography, Algebra I, English I, Physics and Chemistry, Computer Science I, Accounting/Personal Finance and Civil War Studies). This year isn't much more fun. He has gone heavy on the History for some reason... Mom wonders if he is really her kid and is checking the hospital records even now. Focusing on 20th Century American History, Constitutional Studies, Vietnam War Studies, and World History... Whatever happened to French I or Spanish? This kid is going to be working in a library or sumptin that doesn't allow dogs to come for fear of peeing on the books.
(Told you this was a boring post... if you've made it this far perhaps
you should be looking for a hobby, too... perhaps dachshund tummy
rubbing or ear scritching? we give training lessons, call today...)
When she isn't taking care of Reed's schooling hahaha she is at the gym. Six days a week she goes to that place. 3 days of light cardio and legs and 3 days of heavy cardio and arms. We think she is crazy. We told her she could simply stay at home and start lifting newby with her feet or arms to get the same work out... she said no. She LOVES going to the gym. They won't let us come, something about our walking leads getting caught up in the free weights, but it only happened once when Dixie was chasing after that guy with the cougar tattooed on his leg. We think we need to talk to the NAADP (National Association for the Advancement of Dachshund Puppies). They don't even have ramps for their stairmasters... I mean, that is against the laws, isn't it??
Ok, so we've bored you enough today. We promise we will look cute and do something adorable so tomorrow you don't have to read stuff like this.
She didn't even post pictures of anything. What a B&^%h!! She is so fired!!

Newby LOVES CSI: Miami
Newby absolutely loves watching CSI: Miami on A&E. *It comes on after Criminal Minds, y'all... it's not something I pick to watch, it just 'happens'.
I thought it might be the song... I mean, its The Who?!?! You can't go wrong with a great title song.
Then thought maybe its the bright colors.. then I remembered dogs supposedly only see black and white. Then I thought it might be the voice of David Caruso, who plays Horatio.
Then I figured it out...
They are both gingers.... :)

Are You Ready for Some Football?!?!??!?!!!!!
I don't know about you all, but me and mine LOVE some football. In fact, there is no fall, just Spring, Summer, Football and Winter around our house.
This weekend we settled in and watched LOTS of college and professional football. BEST.WEEKEND.EVER!!! Even the pups prefer to pass the pigskin.... (no pigs were harmed in the shooting of these pictures...)
AND that BIG HUGE shoe in the first picture? The shoe that is the size of a professional football? Yes, those belong to my 15 year old son. Size 16. O_O

What Should He Do?
Newby has a quandary, and he doesn't know how to go on. Marley, that debonaire gentleman from India has always loved Miss Lily Belle.
What should he do? He doesn't want to upset a bro! I mean, he feels he should bow out like a gentleman and allow Marley to pitch his woo or make his claim or idk whatever guys do when they are marking their territory (he doesn't think that means peeing on something... Newby is new to romance...)
So while he figures it all out he is gonna nap on the couch. What should he do?
Sounds like a nap is a good plan for all of us!

Ignore the GPOB (Gratuitous Picture of Boob)
And Puddles? These are real.. our mom is too cheap to purchase boobs, especially when she was given a starter kit a while back.
I just wanted to show you what I get greeted with every.single.time. I come home... He whines and grunts, then paws at my leg, I pick him up and then gives me these little devoted love-eyes. It breaks my heart. I never want to leave again.
This was right after I got home from having three fillings replaced. Needless to say he made all the pain go away.

We gots the sweetest card from Reuben! :) He had a chip-in program to help with some Dawg-tor expenses. We sold a few bones and some toys. When we didn't have enough we logged into Mom's Paypal account and sent a little bit of her money.
Don't tell her we know the password cause we got our eyes on some wayy cool stuff on Etsy.
We had a visitor recently. He isn't the largest we've had, but... still... he was rather... uhm... large.
I would like to think that he appreciated my spraying of him so he could go on a rafting trip, less the raft, down the kitchen drain and out into the river, pond, ocean or wherever woe-begotten spiders travel.
I believe he is sitting on a beach towel in Florida right now... waiting to scare some early arriving snowbird.
:D
This was what our weekend looked like... Sunny, gorgeous...
If you've never been to Kentucky, well the central part of the state, this is what you see down every country road.... Miles and miles of fences surrounding the beautiful bluegrass. We didn't see any horses close enough to picture for you. Perhaps another time.
Things Are Getting Back to Normal.. I Fear
Whew! Things (I hope) are slowing down here on the farm and I'm ready to get back to normal. Although as you "know" me, my kinda normalcy is probably "abby-normal" to most people.
Step one on 'getting back to normal' is laundry.
Just be sure, when you are getting your laundry together, you carefully separate your darks and your lights.
Or in this case your dachshund from your laundry.
Have a happy Monday!!

GPOM: Mowing Day
Ok, so TECHNICALLY mowing day is Wednesday at my little homestead. It's my day 'off' you see. But I couldn't be bothered to go get more gas for my lawn tractor, so I only did half of the grass on Wednesday. That left the last acre for me today.
As I always post pictures of the dogs and the farm on my blog, I thought I would post a picture of me. You know, put a face with the poor grammar and sarcasm. :P
So here I am, Michelle aka Shelle to my family and friends, doing what I enjoy the most... mowing my yard.
PS The dogs love it, too. They might not like the noise but they LOVE not dragging their 'transmissions' in the tall grass.
PSS Yes, I'm still in my gym clothes.
PSSS My hairstylist is gonna kill me... my hair should be straight and lovely instead of kinking up with curls... I was lazy yesterday, Travis, sorry!
PSSSS Those ARE freckles. Luckily I am not one of those horrible gingers... cause for gingers freckles count the souls they have stolen. For we brunettes, freckles are just angel kisses!!
Dachshund German for Peeps 101
We, Milo, Dixie and Newby, are so happy to be back after some awesome possum luncheon to be teaching you peeps a very important subject:
We know your furiends have been trying to talk to you. We mean the talk to you ALL THE TIME. But do you really know what they are saying?
Our mom, even after having 3 years of high school and 7 semesters of college German still cannot understand. Probably because we all speak in different dialects.
Dialects. Here is your first word to remember... Dialects are different in each of the areas we live. For example, Mayor Frankie and Ernie speak with a northern accent and Miss Puddles (who will be best served not to throw another rubber band this way) speaks in a southern accent. For these lessons we will be talking in the Kentucky White Trash German Dachshund Dialect. Just imagine us in some white wife beaters on an episode of Cops (bad dog bad dog whatchu gonna do whatchu gonna do when they come for you).
Of the three Mr. Newby is the most vocal... well, when Dixie isn't talking... or Milo isn't barking. Ok, so they all three do not shut up. But, hey, that's a dachshund for you!
I'm gonna try to help you understand what the different barks mean. I'm sorry some of the videos are not the best. I didn't want to turn on the flashy thing as they would shut up.

College Preparatory Blanket Fluffing
Good morning class! We are very pleased to be a part of the Back To School Bash as organized by Mayor Frankie and his evil minion, uhm, bother, we mean BROTHER, Ernie.
We are bringing a very important subject today. We are getting you ready for your senior years of blanket fluffing. Now many of you have been fluffing blankets since you were born, but for some of you this might be your first chance to learn how to fluff a blanket and tuck a blanket. We have three furiends, Milo, Dixie and Newby, who would like to show you blanket fluffing and tucking for different aspects of life.
So, if Puddles will stop flicking Molly with rubber bands we will begin!
Casey, have you seen this technique in action??

Back to School!!!
We are getting our cool drool backpacks, made by Sarge's mom, all ready to head off to school today. Wow, Miss Lori, you out did yourself. We appreciate your time and love your creativity!! Dixie, especially, loves her pink backpack, all blinged out and girly! (It's hard being the only girl in the house with two boys!!)
I guess Newby must have a 'thing' for Miss Lily Belle after all. He keeps his devotion pretty close to the chest. But hHe must be ready to tell the world as he had Miss Lori stitch her name all over the backpack!! Aww. We should have known something was up when he said he was saving her a seat next to him. Poor girl is still in the principal's office though.
Milo loved his backpack, but thinks he would like it better if we would simply get this show on the road and take ourselves off to school!!!!
Thank you so much, Miss Lori and Sarge. We LOVE the backpacks!!
Please go over there right now and buy a ticket, or 12, to help the Houston Pittie Pack!

Apparently Newby Isn't the Only Photo Bomber Out There!
Soz I finally get myself into a position so I can start commenting and posting again, starting with the last blog on my list "We Three Doxies" with Miss Puddles... and it's all about photo bombing! :) Apparently Newby and Puddles have been conspiring behind mine and Allison's backs.
She even photo bombed the raffle picture. Of course it is SOO cute we had to use it for our announcement about the raffle starting for our Back to School Bash!
So don't forget Miss Madi's mom made the most gorgeousful scarf to be raffled off to one lucky winner. There are two great looking books to be raffled as well. Every thing involving the raffle is going on at Mona and Weenie's bloggie. And the best part?? It is only $1 to buy a ticket.
We are SOOOOO excited about our bookbags which Sarge and his wonderful momma made for us. They are already packed with treats and tennis balls and stuffies and unstuffies and... what mom? no, we didn't?!?... Ok, so our backpacks are stuffed with stupid paper and pencils and rulers and dumb stuff like that. -mom the buzz kill-
Here are the lists of classes copied straight from Frankie's Blog. Be sure to sign up for our class! Newby, Milo and Dixie are ready to teach!

Newby the Photo and Life Bomber
I feel like every single picture blogger post I have posted since July has been of Newby. Really, honestly, we have 2 other puppies... you might remember them.. Milo and Dixie?? Well they were our dachshunds long before Newby entered our home and kinda... well... took over my life.
Suffice it to say Newbs likes me. He likes me a WHOLE lot. So wherever I go, whatever I do, he is right there. If I'm on my computer he is right under my feet or behind my chair. If I am in the kitchen, he is on the rug watching everything I do intently. If I am in the laundry room folding clothes, he watches quietly until I am done then walks back and forth from laundry room to bedrooms while I put the clothing away. When I shower, guess what? He is my little voyeur. Which is a bit creepy now that I think of it... he pulls back the curtain with his little snooty snoot and watches everything I do with that little intent look. Yeah, that is going to put me back into counseling.
But, the coolest thing is he is RIGHT here. I mean he is right here in our lives. He is a part of the pack, not an outsider wanting to be a part of something. He didn't hang dog his way around, wanting to please the alpha whoever (it's me.. I'm the alpha and don't you freakin' forget it peeps!!) He started slowly photo bombing ever picture I would try to take of Milo and/or Dixie (or any other family member). Then started life bombing every event we go to or every plan we make. In essence he made sure we knew he was here and here to stay.
And, yup Newbs, we knew you were here to stay the moment we saw those big brown eyes!!
This weekend is going to be a farm and family life make up session as a result of last weekend's new car fiasco and all the catastrophes which ensued thereafter. (Oh, btw, we finally took delivery of the vehicle we purchased Friday late Wednesday night.) So I might not be commenting on your posts until Monday. But know each of you are 'here to stay', too.
